Board Care

 

Our cutting boards are handcrafted from North American solid hardwoods. Each board has been carefully assembled to act as the perfect companion for all your cutting needs in the kitchen. However, even though we have poured as much love into these as we can, we now pass the torch to you in hopes that by following the below instructions you can help your cutting board continue to be happy and healthy.

 

1. Clean your cutting board by wiping it with a damp sponge or towel and a mild detergent. Dry it completely and stand on edge to allow air movement around the board.

 

2. DO NOT saturate your board with water, place it in the dishwater, or allow it to sit on a wet surface. Excessive moisture can cause cracking/warping and could lead to glue joint failure.

 

3. As your cutting board begins to look dry, treat it with a Food Grade Mineral Oil & Wax mixture. We suggest HOWARD Butcher Block Conditioner?

4. Over time your board will show signs of use and this is perfectly normal. To restore the surface of your cutting board you may lightly sand the surface, clean it well, and treat it with the previously mentioned Food Grade Conditioner.
